Operating Your Microphone
- Turn your FM radio to the ON position and face the radio toward you.
- Adjust the volume on the radio to a higher sound level so you can hear when your voice comes through on the radio speakers.
- Turn the microphone on. Note: you can tell the microphone is on and the batteries are inserted correctly when the antenna light is on.
- Hold the microphone two inches from your mouth, press and hold the "M" button and speak in a normal voice while tuning your FM radio above and below across the 100 mark on the tuning dial. Note: You can usually find the station between 97.5 and 100.5 on your FM station.
- For best results stand between five and ten feet from the radio. Note: Make sure the antenna of the microphone is pointed toward the radio. You can adjust the volume on the radio based on your likings.
Helpful Hints
- The microphone is to be used with an FM radio only. This will not work on any AM stations or car stereos.
- The reception of the microphone may be effected by the environment you are in. When using between people, TV's, Computers, etc this could cause some interference with the play in the microphone.
- It is better to use a radio that you can dial along for the stations (instead of a seek radio) so that you can easily find the station that is not being used. Radio's that "seek" tend to skip right past the unused stations.
- "M" button - You must hold the "M" button in at all times when speaking or singing into the microphone to hear your voice come through the radio speakers. Please note: Some models of the microphone will not have the "M" button (these models have 2 "A" buttons and 1 "S" button). If your microphone does not have the "M" button, you should hold the microphone about 2" from your mouth and speak into it.
- "A" button - when you press the "A" button, you will hear a crowd appluse come through the speakers on the radio.
- "S" button - when you press the "S" button, you will head a record scratching effect come through the speakers on the radio.
